About The Sunshinery

Who We Are

In 2021, our founder Jennifer Simoni opened The Sunshinery, a gift shop on the Upper West Side located on 86th and Columbus Avenue. Since then, she's opened a second location on West 69th Street and grown an amazing community. The Sunshinery has collaborated with wonderful local businesses, and gathered neighbors together for crafts and conversation. The support from the community has also allowed us to give back to causes we care about.

We are SO grateful for all of the love.

About Our Founder

Jennifer Simoni

“The Sunshinery is a store inspired by the shops I grew up with, full of charm, conversation, and thoughtful finds. I wanted to create a boutique that felt like a true neighborhood space. After the pandemic, when the community felt shaken, I kept coming back to that idea. Connecting people. I wanted more places you could walk into, take ten minutes out of your day, chat with the person working or the customers, and buy something that sparks happiness– whether you're gifting it or keeping it for yourself. I wanted to bring that kind of space to my neighborhood, the Upper West Side, and in 2021, I did, and the neighborhood welcomed us with a big open-armed bear hug. Our goal continues to be simple, we want more moments of happiness for everyone. If one person walks out smiling and passes that smile along—as small as it sounds—those smiles compound into an amazing neighborhood vibe.”

XO, Jennifer Simoni, founder of The Sunshinery.

FAQ

What Products Do You Sell?

Here at The Sunshinery, we have a little bit of everything from baby clothes to hostess gifts. Candles, cookbooks, stationary, women's clothing, and New-York themed  trinkets, you name it, we've probably got it. Whether you're in a pinch and need a gift anyone would love, or just want to treat yourself, The Sunshinery is the place to go.

Who Picks Your Inventory?

Our owner, Jennifer Simoni, hand picks all of our in store items, with input from the rest of the team. "I love buying from local or women owned businesses when I can. I try to pick items that are really unique. Even when it's a trendy item like a candle, or pilates socks, I search for a unique design or a brand you won't see everywhere." If it's in the shop, it's probably something Jenn herself would buy.

What Are Your Events?

Our events are held in the 69th St. store, location: 106 W 69th St. on Columbus Avenue. Each event includes a craft or activity that you are guided through by one of our amazing instructors. We also provide wine and snacks. Come, chat, and craft!

What Are Your Price Ranges?

Our prices range from less than $20, all the way up to $100+. There's something for every budget and occasion.

From an Emily Lex watercolor book ($26), to a Literie Candle ($48), or an Upper West Side Sweatshirt ($68), you'll find high-quality pieces and smaller gifts too.
